בחשכה

 

,אחת שתיים שלוש ... שמונה האורך

-שני צעדים הוא רוחב הצלע

.החיים מרפרפים בסימן שאלה

 

.אחת, שתיים, שלוש... אולי עוד שבוע

.או סוף הירח ימצאני פה עדיין

.אך ממעל לראשי - האין

 

,בחודש יולי בת עשרים ושלוש אהיה

, במשחק נועז עלי מספר עמדתי

.הקוביה הוטלה. הפסדתי

Darkness

One, two, three...eight feet is the length,

Two strides across, the rest is dark...

Life is fleeting as a question mark.

 

One, two, three...maybe another week.

End of next month may still find me here,

Life and death are very near,

 

I could have been twenty three next July...

I gambled on what mattered most,

The dice cast. I lost.
